Brampton Budget 2026 Telephone Town Hall Results

Official title: Budget 2026 Telephone Town Hall

Closed Budget Finance & Consumer Housing & Communities
Brampton held a telephone town hall on January 20, 2026 to gather resident feedback on the city's annual budget. Over 5,800 households participated, sharing views on affordability, service levels, and investment priorities through live polling.

Why This Matters

Live in Brampton? Your property taxes are set by this budget. The results show what your neighbours think about tax increases, hospital funding, and services like snow clearing. These priorities will shape what you pay and what services you get.

What Could Change

Based on resident feedback, the city may expand by-law enforcement and fire prevention services. A 1% levy for the second hospital will likely continue. Driveway snow clearing could be added at about $92 per household annually. Active transportation infrastructure may keep expanding.

Key Issues

  • Should by-law services and fire prevention officers be expanded to improve safety?
  • Should current service levels be maintained even with a small tax increase?
  • Should the 1% levy for Brampton's second hospital continue?
  • Should the city offer driveway windrow clearing for an additional $92 per year?
