Waterloo Region has opened a 50-cabin outdoor shelter at 1001 Erb's Road to house people experiencing homelessness. The site is staffed around the clock and run by The Working Centre, a local nonprofit. Each cabin has electricity, heating, and cooling. The Region is looking for additional sites in Kitchener and Cambridge.
