New Sidewalk on Leathorne Street - Adelaide to Commissioners Road

Official title: Leathorne Street

Open Community Planning Housing & Communities Transportation
London is building a sidewalk on Leathorne Street to fill a gap in the pedestrian network. The project connects Adelaide Street North to Commissioners Road East. A new pedestrian traffic signal is also planned at Adelaide and Leathorne.

Why This Matters

Walk along Leathorne Street? Right now there's no sidewalk connecting Adelaide to Commissioners Road. If you live or work nearby, construction in 2026 will temporarily affect driveway access. The city wants to know about your access needs before work begins.

What Could Change

A new sidewalk will be built on the north and east side of Leathorne Street. A pedestrian signal will be installed at Adelaide and Leathorne. Some trees, hydro poles, driveways, and signage may be affected depending on final placement.

Key Issues

  • Where should the sidewalk be placed to minimize impacts to trees, driveways, and utilities?
  • What driveway access needs do local businesses and residents have during construction?

How to Participate

  1. Visit the consultation page to learn about the project and share your feedback on driveway access needs.
  2. Contact the City Project Manager at jgardine@london.ca with specific concerns about your property.
