New Multi-Use Path on Davenport Road in Waterloo

Official title: Davenport Road multi-use path connection

Open Community Planning Housing & Communities Transportation
The City of Waterloo wants to replace the sidewalk on Davenport Road with a wider multi-use path for cyclists and pedestrians. The path would run between Northfield Drive and Lexington Road, connecting neighbourhoods to Conestoga Mall and the ION transit station.

Why This Matters

Live or commute in north Waterloo? This path could make cycling and walking safer along Davenport Road. It connects to the ION station and Conestoga Mall, so you might use it for shopping trips or your daily commute.

What Could Change

The existing sidewalk on the east side of Davenport Road would be replaced with a wider asphalt multi-use path. A short section on Lexington Road would also be upgraded. Construction timing hasn't been announced yet.

Key Issues

  • What should the design of the multi-use path look like?
  • How will the path connect to the broader cycling network?
