New Bike Lane and Sidewalk on Clarke Road, London
Official title: Clarke Road Walking & Cycling Improvements
London is building a two-way protected bike lane on Clarke Road in 2026. The project connects existing bike lanes on Wavell Street to Clarke Road Secondary School and Argyle Mall. You'll also get a wider sidewalk set further back from traffic, plus accessibility improvements at the Wavell Street intersection.
Why This Matters
Bike to school or the mall? This route will be safer. Live on Clarke Road? Expect construction this summer, but you'll get a better sidewalk out of it. Take the bus? The waiting area is getting bigger.
What Could Change
A protected two-way bike lane will run along Clarke Road between Wavell Street and Argyle Mall. The sidewalk will be rebuilt wider and further from traffic. The LTC bus bay will be removed and replaced with a larger passenger waiting area.
Key Issues
- Design of the two-way boulevard cycle track
- Sidewalk placement and width improvements
- Intersection modifications at Clarke Road and Wavell Street
