Mud Creek Flood Mitigation and Pathway Project - London
Official title: Mud Creek Improvements (Phase 2A and 2B)
London is rebuilding Mud Creek to reduce flooding near Oxford Street. The project widens the channel, improves wildlife habitat, and adds a new multi-use pathway. Work started in 2021 and continues through 2024.
Why This Matters
Live near Oxford Street and Proudfoot Lane? This project directly affects your neighbourhood. Flooding has been a recurring problem here. The new pathway will also give residents a place to walk and bike along the creek.
What Could Change
The creek channel will be widened to handle more water during storms. Oxford Street should flood less often. A naturalized corridor will replace the degraded channel, and a new multi-use pathway will connect through the area.
Key Issues
- How will construction affect nearby residents during the work?
- What tree removals are needed and how will they be replaced?
- How will the project improve wildlife habitat along the creek?
