Calgary is redesigning 10 Avenue SW in Sunalta to create wider sidewalks, better bike lanes, and more welcoming public spaces. Three design concepts are now open for feedback: Jagged Edge, Block Shift, and High Street. Each takes a different approach to balancing pedestrian space, traffic flow, and community gathering areas. A separate study of 14 Street SW is also underway to plan future improvements.

What Could Change

One of three design concepts will be selected for 10 Avenue SW. Jagged Edge creates varied sidewalk widths for discovery and lingering. Block Shift moves some road sections south to create wider, sunlit sidewalks with a festival zone near the LRT. High Street keeps a continuous road alignment with raised intersections to calm traffic. Construction could begin in 2028 if funding is approved.
