Help Improve 23 Neighbourhood Parks in London
Official title: Neighbourhood Parks Improvement Fund
Why This Matters
Use a park in London? This fund is upgrading 23 of them with new sports courts, playgrounds, and exercise equipment. If your neighbourhood park is on the list, you'll have a chance to weigh in on what gets built. Kids, athletes, and anyone who enjoys outdoor recreation could benefit.
What Could Change
Several parks are already under construction or complete. Arthur Ford Park now has two new pickleball courts and one upgraded tennis court. Hastings Park kept its existing courts without adding shared pickleball lines. More projects will roll out through 2027, with each park getting specific upgrades based on community feedback.
Key Issues
- What type of sports courts should be added to specific parks (tennis vs. pickleball)?
- Should existing tennis courts have shared pickleball lines added?
- What amenities and improvements does each neighbourhood want in their local park?
How to Participate
- Check the park construction updates page to see which projects are currently seeking feedback.
- Watch for letters to residents, on-site signage, and updates on this consultation page as individual park projects progress.
- Contact jbruin@london.ca or jmartino@london.ca with questions about specific park projects.
What Happened
Several park projects have been completed. At Arthur Ford Park, after reviewing public feedback collected from February 7 to March 5, 2025, the City decided to upgrade one tennis court and add two pickleball courts, removing one existing tennis court. At Hastings Park, the City decided not to add shared pickleball lines to existing tennis courts based on concerns about user conflicts and court damage. The Bateman Trail neighbourhood park improvements are also complete.
