Tennis and Pickleball Court Upgrades at Bechtel Park
Official title: Bechtel Park courts renewal
The City of Waterloo is upgrading the courts at Bechtel Park. The current four multi-use courts will become three dedicated tennis courts and four pickleball courts. New fencing, gates, and nets are also planned.
Why This Matters
Play tennis or pickleball at Bechtel Park? This affects your court time. The shift from shared courts to dedicated ones means less waiting for pickleball players, but fewer tennis courts overall.
What Could Change
The park will go from four shared courts to seven dedicated ones—three for tennis, four for pickleball. Construction starts spring 2026 with completion expected by summer 2026.
Key Issues
- Is the new layout of three tennis courts and four pickleball courts the right balance?
- What features matter most for the renewed courts?
