Help Design Safer Streets for Halifax's North End
Official title: North End Complete Streets Phase 2
Halifax is redesigning 4.8 km of streets in the North End to make them safer for walking, biking, and transit. The project covers Maynard, Creighton, Northwood, Fuller, Charles, Nora Bernard, Cunard and North streets. You can drop pins on an interactive map to share where you feel safe, where you don't, and what improvements you'd like to see.
Why This Matters
Walk, bike, or take the bus in Halifax's North End? This project will reshape how you get around. Live near these streets? Construction will affect your neighbourhood through 2028. The city wants to hear from residents, not just traffic engineers.
What Could Change
New bike lanes, wider sidewalks, and better crosswalks could be coming to eight streets in the North End. The city may add rain gardens, street trees, and public seating. Design decisions made now will guide construction through 2028.
