Help Design New Multi-Sport Courts at Churchill and Weaver Parks

Official title: Multi-Use Sports Courts – Churchill and Weaver

Open Community Planning Housing & Communities
Cambridge is upgrading two basketball courts into multi-sport hubs. The designs are now revealed—featuring more hoops, futsal goals, hitting walls, and hangout areas. Construction is planned for spring 2026, with a $400,000 budget for both parks. Your feedback helped shape these designs, and the city wants to hear if they got it right.

Why This Matters

Live near Churchill or Weaver Park? These courts could become your go-to spot for basketball, futsal, or just hanging out. The new seating areas mean parents can watch while kids play. If you've got ideas about what would make these spaces work better for your family or friends, now's the time to speak up.

What Could Change

Both courts will be resurfaced with new line markings for multiple sports. Churchill Park gets futsal goals added. Both parks will have hitting walls for skill practice and new seating areas. Final features depend on budget approval and material availability—designs may be adjusted during construction.

Key Issues

  • Does the revealed design meet community needs for basketball and other sports?
  • Are the proposed seating and hangout areas adequate for families and groups?
  • What additional features should be considered before construction begins?
