Help Design Margaret Ave Park in Waterloo

Official title: Margaret Ave Park

Open Community Planning Housing & Communities
A new park is coming to the corner of Margaret Avenue North and Neilson Avenue in Waterloo. The City is working with SHIFT Landscape Architecture to design a space that reflects community needs and honours the neighbourhood's history. They want your input on what features and activities the park should include.

Why This Matters

Live near Margaret and Neilson? This park will be in your backyard. It's a chance to shape what goes there—playground, walking paths, gathering spaces. New parks don't come along often, so now's the time to speak up.

What Could Change

The City will finalize the park design this fall based on community feedback. Construction is set to begin in Spring 2026. Initial concepts have already been developed from earlier engagement rounds.

Key Issues

  • What activities and features should the park include?
  • How can the park honour the neighbourhood's history?
  • How should the park fit into the existing neighbourhood?
