What Should Go in Cooksville's Expanded Parks?
Official title: Improving Cooksville Parks
Mississauga is expanding two parks in Cooksville by 8 hectares (20 acres) after buying up nearby properties. Phase 1 gathered input from 530 residents on what features they want. Now the city is designing the parks and will ask for feedback on the plans soon.
Why This Matters
Live in Cooksville? These parks are about to get a lot bigger. This is your chance to shape what goes in them—playgrounds, sports fields, trails, or something else. The area has a parkland deficit, so this expansion matters for the neighbourhood.
What Could Change
Cooksville Park and Iggy Kaneff Park will be redesigned with new amenities based on resident feedback. The city is still acquiring more properties, so the parks may grow even larger. Construction will follow once designs are finalized.
Key Issues
- What amenities and features should be included in the expanded parks?
- How should the two parks be connected and designed?
