Official title: Ochapowace Nation Water Treatment Plant Upgrades

Closed Environmental Assessment Health & Safety Indigenous & Northern
Ochapowace Nation wants to build a new water treatment plant and drill two new wells to improve drinking water for the community. The project includes decommissioning an old well and installing about 800 metres of new water pipes along an existing gravel road.

Why This Matters

Clean drinking water is essential for health. This project aims to improve water infrastructure for Ochapowace Nation members. If you live in or near the community, construction could affect local roads temporarily.

What Could Change

A new water treatment plant would replace aging infrastructure. Two new wells would provide a more reliable water supply. The old well would be decommissioned and about 800 metres of new water main installed.

Key Issues

  • Construction of a new water treatment plant south of the existing facility
  • Installation of two new wells and decommissioning of the existing well
  • Installation of 800 metres of raw water main along existing gravel road
