Dredging and Pile Installation at Dauphin River Small Craft Harbour

Official title: Dauphin River Small Craft Harbour Dredging and Pile Installation

Closed Environmental Assessment Natural Resources Transportation
Fisheries and Oceans Canada wants to dredge 850 cubic metres of material from the Dauphin River harbour entrance and install 4 steel anchor piles. The work aims to keep the harbour safe for boats and make float installation easier.

Why This Matters

Use this harbour for fishing or boating? This project keeps the channel deep enough for safe passage. The new anchor piles should also make seasonal dock setup smoother.

What Could Change

If approved, dredging would remove sediment buildup from the entrance channel. Four new steel piles would be permanently installed to anchor floating docks.

Key Issues

  • Should dredging of 850 cubic metres proceed at the harbour entrance?
  • Should 4 steel anchor piles be installed for float operations?
