Help Design Expanded Cooksville and Iggy Kaneff Parks
Official title: Improving Cooksville Parks
Mississauga is adding 8 hectares of new parkland to Cooksville Park and Iggy Kaneff Park. Phase 1 gathered feedback from 530 residents on what features they want. Now the city is designing the parks and will soon ask for input on the conceptual designs.
Why This Matters
Live in Cooksville? These parks are about to get a lot bigger. If you want a splash pad, basketball courts, or more green space, now's your chance to shape what gets built. The city is actively buying more land, so this is a rare opportunity to influence a major neighbourhood upgrade.
What Could Change
The expanded parks could include new playgrounds, sports facilities, walking paths, or natural areas depending on resident feedback. Phase 2 will present conceptual designs for public input before construction begins.
Key Issues
- What amenities and features should be included in the expanded parks?
- How should the newly acquired land be integrated with existing parkland?
How to Participate
- Review the Phase 1 summary document to see what residents said they want in the parks.
- Subscribe for project updates to be notified when Phase 2 engagement opens for feedback on conceptual designs.
- Email public.info@mississauga.ca or call 311 (905-615-4311 from outside Mississauga) with questions or feedback.
