What Should Mississauga's New Waterfront Parks at Brightwater Include?
Official title: Future parks at Brightwater
Mississauga is planning 18 acres of new parkland on a former industrial site along Lake Ontario in Port Credit. The City wants to know what features residents want in these future parks. Over 2,100 people already responded to an initial survey, and more input opportunities are coming as designs evolve.
Why This Matters
Live in Port Credit or nearby? These parks will shape your waterfront for decades. The 13-acre lakefront park will connect existing green spaces, creating a continuous shoreline trail. Even if you don't live close by, this is one of the largest waterfront park projects in the GTA.
What Could Change
The City will use public feedback to finalize park designs for the 18-acre site. Features like playgrounds, sports facilities, natural areas, or waterfront access could be prioritized based on what residents want. The parks will be part of a larger development that includes nearly 3,000 housing units.
